The 23rd Annual Forum for Access and Continuing Education (FACE) Conference will take place on 29th June – 1st July 2016 at the Queen’s University Belfast campus.
This presentation is based on an ongoing research project on the bibliometrics of education research. As a case study, we have focused on five ”international" adult education and workplace learning journals, identifying who is citing who.

The importance of intergenerational learning has recently been emphasized by many factors: population ageing, increasing chances of healthy old age, and prolonged job careers create opportunities for several generations meeting in the workplace; knowledge in its turn economy increases the need for creating, expanding and sharing knowledge; etc.
Particularly worth noting in this edition are calls for papers relating to the EUCEN conference in Dublin (see Conferences), the Journal of Vocational Education and Training: Special Issue on VET and race/ ethnicity, and the Journal of International Mobility: Issue No 4 on mobility and skills (see Publications), and an update on the Competence 2016 conference in Wageningen (see Conferences).

Volunteering in general has been long seen as vital component of democratic societies, namely of the social capital which is deemed of utter importance for the cohesion of the society as such. Numerous researches show the interconnection of volunteering activities with a healthy social capital of the society, therefore bringing the volunteering into the limelight in the context of social cohesion.
The DISCUSS project we will be hold a webinar next week, and below you will find a short description of the topic and how to register. The topic I hope may be of interest, but also the experience of seeing how a webinar works may be of interest and something that you might want to incorporate into your practice.

Intergenerational learning naturally accompanies us through all stages of life. Consequently, it is relevant to inquire under which conditions and circumstances intergenerational learning takes place and what its benefits are.
The conference welcomes papers, workshops and roundtable discussions which contribute to research, theory, policy and practice in work and learning. Conference themes may cover all or some of the following:
The ultimate aim of this contract is to identify cultural patterns (values, beliefs and attitudes) within enterprises and across sectors in respect to the support of learning. By means of extensive case studies, a holistic overview about practices that support workplace learning within successful enterprises in selected sectors will be developed and analysed. It will be further inquired in what ways workplace learning supports business success. The information derived from the study will be processed and made available to different target groups (e.g.
